Animal watching

Beavers and otters. Crane migration in spring and in autumn.

Breeding grounds for more than 20,000 cormorants. Five of the very rare pairs of eagles use this area to breed – sea eagle, fish eagle and the lesser spotted eagle are at home here. The natural and conservation reserve “Peenetal” offers a breathtaking variety of species, waiting to be discovered– book a tour with trained nature scouts or the director of the nature park himself.

You can explore the rich wildlife either by guided walk or by using the very quiet solar boat. The Great Bittern and Spotted Crake are as interesting to ornithologists as to participants of a photo safari. Especially for children we are offering an exciting entrée into the wonders of nature of the North. Let us know what you would like to see – we can surely organize the programme you want!
